:D I'm very happy since Wednesday. Why?

Cos I went to Texere Yarns and bagged some knitting needles and some Louisa Harding Sari Ribbon. Then on Thursday I went to Texere again but the assistant was busy with a customer so I went browsing in the side shop. Fatal move.

OOOOOH! the sight that met my eyes!!!:o There were yarns everywhere all neatly placed in the cubby holes, there was Noro, Sirdar, Wendy, I saw the most gorgeous yarn. It was Artesano Alpaca in the Hummingbird colourway. Its beauuuitiful. The colours are pastel green, pink, yellow, blues, violet and turquoise. Its the most scrummy yarn so of course I just had to buy one. It comes in 150g skeins, with a very generous 300m in each skein, its a bit pricey though at nearly £14. Tomorrow I'm off to get another 2 skeins. Who cares I just gotta have some more cos I'm knitting a lovely lacy faggot stitch summer top that has cap sleeves or maybe I'll change the pattern slightly and make the sleeves a little longer.

I got the pattern from Simply Knitting I think it was in the June issue. Anyway it is lovely and the alpaca yarn is so incredibly soft and yummy to work with.B)

Some good news on the Knitting Club. We are 7 on the books now. The Knitting club has grown from 1 member ie, me to another 6 members. Who knows we might make Club of the month in Simply Knitting mag, one day maybe. Not one but 3 new lasses came yesterday, oooh what bliss. We chatted about knitting problems family, work, and I enjoyed a Mocha Frapp, then Kate got me a Mocha, which was very nice of her.:D

The 2 new girls that came for one hour were very nice, a daughter and her Mum. Kathy let on she's a Doc. I'm so glad cos I can reveal to here that knitting is a very relaxing healing pastime for people with mental health problems and not only knitting but embroidery and such other crafts like Cardmaking. They were very charming, and they are coming again. Sarah has gone hiking with her beloved so she could not make our little group. Aw! shame, never mind. Well that all 4 now must grab some chow-time.

:D Hi all you knitaholics. I'v been knitting like mad on Friday and Saturday. I went to Knitting and Crochet Guild monthly meeting of friday evening it was fab. We had a very interesting meeting we learned a new crochet techniqaue called hairpin crochet. :p

I got it straight away its not hard once you know what you're doing. The meeting is in Headingley near Leeds I am sure there is a branch near you. Saturday I put me feet up and knitted all day and evening with a break for my Tea. I was knitting the left glove in Twilleys Freedom Spirit in Fire Juniper Berries. It is going to have a frill on the cuff. They should keep me warm with my hat and scarf to match.

Saturday I also knitted a lovely little bag in Rowan Spray in double the wool on 15mm it was plain knit the garter stitch rows up the top with CO for handle. After I finished it I added tassles around the garter stitch edge. It is really nice. I started knitted the Poncho for my customer but did it wrong so I had to rip it back but the glitter thread has got tangled up a bit so I have to detangle its gonna take all eveing. Never mind I'll have my Mozza on to keep me company.

Today I went to church came home had me dinner and started to bash away on Mr Peecie, I looked at Yarn Harlot blog she's on about whal watching, wot a bore. Must get some greeting cards done I'm designing some Spirelli and decoupage ones they come in a kit of 4 designs and five cards in each set. They should be a nice little earner when I've sold them on me market stall at Shipley.

  • Day Trip

Today was a lovely glorious sunny day so I decided to go on a Stash Enrichment Expedition to Holmfirth. It was a long ride on the buses but I made it for after 3.30pm.

It was easy to find the shop, at first i thought i had come to the wrong branch cos there were tons of designer clothes, then I saw the knitting needles and headed upstairs.

W O W E E!!! :DD The sight that met my eyes was fantabululous!!! Wools and yarns of every kind in all the glory holes. Everywhere I looked there were yarns protruding everywhere. Truly a knitters paradise. So i bagged me some Ribbon Twist and some Rowan Spray as well as the RYC Cashsoft too, its so luverly and soft, I think it will be my new pet yarn as well as the Alpaca I call Lilly. :D

The journey back home took ages due to the traffic but i eventually got home to the bus station after 6pm. Only to find my bus did not start for an hour so I got a taxi home. All in all it was quite an adventure.

Next Stash expedition is gonna be to my local Hobbycraft store drool slobber, cos I'm gonna get some Spirelli discs and a Spirelli punch. Hopefully there will be some nice yarns too.

Thats all 4 now I'm pooped

  • Bobble bag

:'(I done a terrible thing to my bobble knitted bag today. I ripped it AAAARRRRGGh!!!!! cos it was wrong, wrong wrong. So the only thing to do was to rip it. But there is still some of it left, I only ripped it to the 4th row of garter stitch, now I am gonna tackle the 5th row of bobles again.

On the sock front, I started yet another pair of socks. Yippee!!! :DD:
The yarn is question is from Jeni at www.fyberspates.co.uk from her Sock Club, which I enjoy knitting up me socks from very much. Hopeful;ly I will have them finished in time for my birthday and wear them with my Gypsy Skirts. Cos i just love gypsy skirts they are so feminine.

On the job front, the Scottish job was duly thought about carefully and after some sound advise from my sort of (boy)friend he persuaded me to accept the job cos it is a good opportunity and good desinging experience too.

I had a very nic Tea today. I cooked some pasta, chucked some grated veggie cheese in , some flour, flora marg, and some milk, gave it all a whizzmix and hey presto a really tasty thick cheesey pasta dish. YUMMY>

Well I had better get some ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ goodnight

  • Easter weekend

I had lots of fun at the weekend :D. On Saturday it was lovely and sunny so I sat on my garden bench and put my feet up then got on with some knitting and embroidery.

I tackled a teeny-weeny sock in Foxglove I think from Fyberspates, honestly it was a right fiddly job as I was only working on 16 stitches. But I finished it at about5.30pm:o YIPEE!!

In between the sock knitting I did some work on my red Porsche cross stitch which is coming along nicely.

On Easter Sunday I went to church which was very beautiful MaSS,came home then had me dinner and went to visit me Mam. She was fast asleep when I came so I made meself a cuppa coffee and waited till she woke up. It was a non-knitting day so I persuaded me Mam to go for a "walk" in the garden in her wheelchair. The weather was glorious but a bit windy so we just stayed a short while.

Tea-time was nice:DD we all sat around the table and tucked in to Easter food cos it was eastern eauropean food Mum tucked in and ate all her food and even had room for trifle. YUM!:o

Well I had better get some work done and get me finger out and do some knitting.

  • Intro to Knitnutt

Welocome to my new blog. Hi the fellow knitaholics my handle is Knitnutt, I'm nuts about knitting as the name implies. I'm totally new to this game and haven't the foggiest idea of what to do so it will just have to be with no piccies as I don't have a digital camera.

I will be posting my thoughts on the progress of my many knitting projects, stash enrichment expeditions eg new additions to my stash mountain, and find out who is Mrs Sally?????

The WIP at the moment is a sweet little matinee coat and bootees with Funky fur trim around hood borders and bootees. No its not for me its for my penpals' preggy friend, Another fave WIP is my Alpaca textured choc brown and coffee coloured squares cardi. I even have a pet Alpaca yarn which I take out of my stash box and stroke it, squeeze it and generally pet it to death cos its so soft and cuddly

I expect you're wondering who is Mrs Sally, well she helps me to knit. Only the other day she grabbed hold of my dusky pink Airedale wool and went beserk under the bed. Ha, ha. Yeah you guessed it Mrs Sally is my very active obligatory knitters cat. Sal was "married" to Mr Chico but he became ill and passed away peacefully in August. We miss him so much, my little boy Chico and Mrs Sally used to do everything together they ate, played and slept onthe bed with their arms around each other. Sweet or wot???

I'm into sock knitting now in a big way. I got into it thanks to the Yarn Harlot in Canada, the famous knitting Author. I find her books really amusing and in fact am reading one of her hilarious books. I've got 3 socks on the go and completed my first pair of socks last month for my beloved young man. We are the best of friends on day we will go out for a meal.

Today I am gonna get stuck in to the bobbly /garter stitch bag cos its nearly finished, I saw it in Simply Knitting mag which is THWE BESTEST knitting mag ever!!! I could not believe it when it first came out I was dying to get a knitting mag I could really enjoy all about the fine art of Knitting and the patterns are outa sight. I think I must have quite a big collection of their patterns in my sleeves. One day I'll get around to knitting them all up.

Hey guess wot??? I've been offered 2 fab knitting jobs. How about that doing my hobby as a job. I am told I can incorporate some of my designs into their patterns, but the salary is crap. So I will persue the other one in Yorkshire which is nearer to home.

must get some shut-eye soon, big day tomorrow. Lots of loverly knitting. YUMMY!!! Goodnight y'all
